01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Settle at the counter at bar miyabi and a faint hint of incense drifts through the calm, Japanese-modern space, made for lingering over a drink. With around eight seats, the intimate bar invites you to take your time over spirits from across Japan and carefully prepared drinks.

Whisky and cask-aged spirits from across Japan

Whisky anchors the menu, with bottles from distilleries across Japan, including Ichiro's Malt White Label, Matsui Sakura Cask from Tottori, Komagatake 2023 Edition from Nagano and Kanosuke Single Malt from Kagoshima. The shochu selection includes Hakkaisan aged in oak barrels and the sweet-potato shochu Tenshi no Yuwaku, matured in sherry casks. Comparing the aromas imparted by different casks is part of the appeal. There are other ways to vary your first drink, too: Niigata's Raiden Beer, a rotating craft beer on tap, and Premium Tequila Umeshu Soga from Kanagawa are among the options.

Light bites and a touch of traditional performance

For something to nibble alongside a drink, the menu includes familiar light bites such as a cheese platter, chocolate and mixed nuts; these also pair well with a glass of wine or sweet Sauternes. If you are taking a break from alcohol, soft drinks include IYOSHI COLA from Tokyo and Chiran tea from Kagoshima. On some occasions, guests can watch the owner perform Japanese dance up close, bringing a sense of Japanese traditional culture to an evening that goes beyond the usual bar experience. bar miyabi is open Monday to Saturday, 8 pm to midnight, and closed on Sundays. Around Nihonbashi-Hamacho, it offers a distinctive drink and a different kind of end to the day.
